The President of IROST, Dr. Alireza Ashori, as a member of a high-ranking delegation headed by the Iranian Minister of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), H.E.Dr.Mansour Gholami,  paid an official visit to some of the important scientific, research and cultural centers of the French Republic. The delegation consisted of some of the MSRT Deputy Ministers, the Chancellors and Heads of top Iranian Universities and Research Centers and representatives from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 

                                                                    

      
 

 

During this visit, Dr. Ashori participated in a round-table discussion organized at Paris-Saclay University on "Technology Development", expressing his views on some issues such as technology commercialization and support from knowledge-based companies. Following the discussions between Dr. Ashori and the authorities of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), both sides agreed to develop scientific cooperation in the near future. Further, a visit to the CNRS Cyclotron Laboratories was as part of Dr.Ashori 's visit program at CNRS.

 

                                                               
 

                                                               
 

 

It may be noted that CNRS is one of the largest Research Centers in the world (ranked first in Europe) with a budget of over € 3.3 billion in 2016 and having over 11,000 researchers involved in basic and applied research at this center. Moreover, as another part of the visits, Dr. Ashori had an official meeting at UNESCO in Paris with the UNESCO Secretary-General in the presence of H.E. Dr. Gholami, respected Minister of MSRT and Dr. Ahmad Jalali, the representative of the I.R. Iran at UNESCO.
